Conceited Witch // Price of Beauty is an adventurer card with two halves: a creature half (Conceited Witch) and an Adventure half (Price of Beauty). You may cast either half. If you cast the Adventure (Price of Beauty), treat only the Adventure’s characteristics while it’s on the stack — its mana cost, color, type line and rules text are those of Price of Beauty. If that Adventure spell resolves, instead of going to the graveyard it is exiled; while it remains exiled you may cast the card’s creature half (Conceited Witch) as a creature spell. If the Adventure spell doesn’t resolve (for example, it’s countered or its targets become illegal), it isn’t exiled and you can’t cast the creature later from exile. If an effect copies the Adventure spell, that copy is exiled as it resolves but immediately ceases to exist and cannot be cast as a creature. When the card exists in zones other than the stack (for example in your graveyard or battlefield when it’s a creature), it is a normal card with its normal characteristics — the Adventure characteristics are ignored. Roles (the new colorless Aura tokens introduced in Wilds of Eldraine) are unrelated to the Adventure mechanic on this card, but rulings clarify how Role tokens interact with permanents: a Role token can only be created attaching to a permanent it could legally enchant; multiple Roles controlled by the same player attached to a permanent are reduced to the most recent one by a state-based action; Roles are colorless Auras with subtype Role and enchant creature. Other rulings explain interactions such as timing restrictions for casting the creature from exile, copying behavior, and how effects that refer to a card that “has an Adventure” treat its alternative characteristics.

To cast either half, choose which side you’re casting. If you cast the Adventure half (Price of Beauty), treat the spell only by its Adventure characteristics while it’s on the stack; if it resolves you exile it and may later cast the creature half (Conceited Witch) from exile as a creature spell.
If you cast the creature half (Conceited Witch) normally, it’s a creature card with its normal characteristics; its Adventure side is irrelevant while it’s a permanent, in graveyard, or on the stack as a creature.
If an effect would create a Role token enchanting a permanent, it can’t create that Role if the Role couldn’t legally enchant that permanent (for example, due to protection).
If an Adventure spell is countered or otherwise doesn’t resolve, it isn’t exiled and you don’t get to cast the creature later.
If an Adventure spell is copied, the copy is exiled as it resolves but ceases to exist; you can’t cast that copy as a creature later.
If a permanent ends up with two Roles controlled by the same player at the same time, that player chooses which to keep; the others go to their owners’ graveyards.

In rare cases, a spell or ability might attempt to create a Role token enchanting a permanent that it can’t legally enchant (because of an ability like protection from enchantments). In such cases, the Role token isn’t created.

An effect may refer to a card, spell, or permanent that “has an Adventure.” This refers to a card, spell, or permanent that has an adventurer card’s set of alternative characteristics, even if they’re not being used and even if that card was never cast as an Adventure.

Casting a card as an Adventure isn’t casting it for an alternative cost. Effects that allow you to cast a spell for an alternative cost or without paying its mana cost may allow you to apply those to the Adventure.

When casting a spell as an Adventure, use the alternative characteristics and ignore all of the card’s normal characteristics. The spell’s color, mana cost, mana value, and so on are determined by only those alternative characteristics. If the spell leaves the stack, it immediately resumes using its normal characteristics.

If an object becomes a copy of an object that has an Adventure, the copy also has an Adventure. If it changes zones, it will either cease to exist (if it’s a token) or cease to be a copy (if it’s a nontoken permanent), and so you won’t be able to cast it as an Adventure.

An adventurer card is a permanent card in every zone except the stack, as well as while on the stack if not cast as an Adventure. Ignore its alternative characteristics in those cases. For example, while it’s in your graveyard, Questing Druid is a green creature card whose mana value is 2. It can’t be the target of Tenacious Tomeseeker’s triggered ability (“return target instant or sorcery card from your graveyard to your hand”).

Some spells and abilities that create Role tokens require targets. If each target chosen is an illegal target as that spell or ability tries to resolve, it won’t resolve. The Role token won’t be created.

A permanent can have multiple Roles attached to it if each one is controlled by a different player.

If an adventurer card ends up in exile for any other reason than by exiling itself while resolving, it won’t give you permission to cast it as a permanent spell.

If a spell is cast as an Adventure, its controller exiles it instead of putting it into its owner’s graveyard as it resolves. For as long as it remains exiled, that player may cast it as a permanent spell. If an Adventure spell leaves the stack in any way other than resolving (most likely by being countered or by failing to resolve because its targets have all become illegal), that card won’t be exiled and the spell’s controller won’t be able to cast it as a permanent later.

If an effect instructs you to choose a card name, you may choose the alternative Adventure name. Consider only the alternative characteristics to determine whether that is an appropriate name to choose.

For example, if you control Johann, Apprentice Sorcerer (“Once each turn, you may cast an instant or sorcery spell from the top of your library.”) and Questing Druid is on top of your library, you can cast Seek the Beast, but not Questing Druid.
