Wyjaśnienie po polsku

Fear // Loathing (Fear (split card) // Loathing)

Sorcery // Sorcery

(Brak dostarczonego tekstu Oracle dla obu połówek.)

Jak działa karta?

Split card: choose one half when casting. Pay that half's cost and resolve only that half as a sorcery spell.

To cast this card, you choose one of its halves: Fear or Loathing. You announce which half you're casting, then pay that half's mana cost and put that half on the stack as a sorcery spell. The unchosen half is ignored for that casting. While on the stack, the spell has the name, mana cost, types, and rules text of the chosen half only. If the spell resolves, it does only what that chosen half's oracle text says. If the card is in another zone (hand, graveyard, exile, library), it is still a single card with both names printed, but that does not change how you cast it: you still pick one half when casting. Rulings specific to each half (if any) apply only when that half is the chosen one.

Ważne interakcje

To play a split card, choose one side as you cast it. You pay that side's mana cost and follow its instructions. The other side is ignored unless a spell or ability refers to a split card specifically.
If a split card is on the stack, it is the chosen half that is the spell. Effects that refer to that spell use the chosen half's name, types and text.
If a split card would be copied, only the chosen half is copied (unless an effect specifically copies both halves).
If a split card in your hand is exiled and later cast by an effect that allows casting without paying its mana cost, you still choose one half to cast and pay costs or follow restrictions of that effect.
Some game zones (like graveyard) store the whole card; other effects that look at card names or text refer to the whole card, but when casting you pick a half.
If a half has additional costs (like kicker) or alternative costs, those apply only to the chosen half when casting it.

Częste pomyłki

Thinking both halves are cast at once — you cast only the half you choose.
Believing the unchosen half's text applies while the chosen half resolves — only the chosen half matters.
Assuming both halves can be targeted or copied together when a single half is on the stack — only the chosen half is affected unless an effect specifically references the whole card or both halves.

Przykład

You have Fear // Loathing in hand. If you want to cast Fear, announce "I'm casting Fear," pay Fear's mana cost, and put Fear on the stack. The Loathing half does nothing during that casting.
