The triggered ability that checks to see if X is 5 or greater refers to the value of X that was chosen as the spell was cast, which may be different from the number of counters it entered with if there are replacement effects involved. This is also true for any other ability that it has which refers to X and triggers when it enters the battlefield.

Wyjaśnienie po polsku
Mawloc
Stworzenie — Tyranid
Mawloc has two main parts.
1) Ravenous — This is a keyword that means: when you cast Mawloc you choose a value for X as part of the spell. Mawloc enters the battlefield with X +1/+1 counters. Separately, Ravenous includes a conditional triggered ability: “If X is 5 or more, draw a card when it enters.” That trigger uses the X you chose while casting the spell, not necessarily the number of counters that ended up on it after replacement effects. Counters are applied as it enters, so any abilities that look at its power/toughness as it enters will see those counters.
2) Terror from the Deep — This is an enter-the-battlefield triggered ability. When Mawloc enters, you may choose up to one target creature an opponent controls. When the trigger resolves, Mawloc fights that target (each deals damage equal to its power to the other). If that target would die at any time that turn, it is exiled instead of going to the graveyard. The exile replacement applies no matter what caused it to die and even if Mawloc is no longer on the battlefield when the creature would die.
Ważne interakcje
- Ravenous: When Mawloc is cast you choose a value for X. Mawloc enters the battlefield with X +1/+1 counters. If the chosen X was 5 or more, its enter-the-battlefield trigger that draws a card will trigger. (Note: replacement effects can change how many counters it actually gets, but the check “X is 5 or more” uses the chosen X.)
- Counters are placed as Mawloc enters the battlefield, not after. Any ability that cares about its power/toughness as it enters will see those counters.
- If the spell is copied, the copy uses the same chosen X and the token/permanent created by that copy will enter with X counters.
- If a permanent enters as a copy of a creature with Ravenous (not via copying the spell), it does not get ravenous counters.
- Terror from the Deep: When Mawloc enters the battlefield, its triggered ability may target up to one creature an opponent controls. When it resolves, Mawloc and that target deal damage to each other as though they "fight."
- If the targeted creature would die that turn for any reason (including from the fight damage or other effects later that turn), it is exiled instead of going to the graveyard. This replacement applies even if Mawloc left the battlefield by the time the other creature would die.
Przykład 2: Mawloc wchodzi i walczy z celem przeciwnika. Jeśli ten cel zginie później w tej turze — nawet z innej przyczyny — zamiast do grobu zostanie wyeksilowany.

A creature with ravenous gets its counters as it enters the battlefield. It doesn't enter the battlefield first and then get its counters. Any triggered ability that looks for a creature with a certain power or toughness entering the battlefield will see the counters when it checks to see if it should trigger.
If a permanent spell with ravenous is copied, the copy will have the same value for X, and the token permanent that the spell becomes as it enters the battlefield will enter with X counters.
The creature Mawloc fights will be exiled instead of going to the graveyard if it would die on the same turn for any reason, not just because of the damage from fighting Mawloc. This is true even if Mawloc has left the battlefield by that time.
If another permanent enters the battlefield as a copy of a creature with Ravenous, it will not enter with any counters from the ravenous ability.
