- When you cast Hideous Taskmaster, a triggered ability goes on the stack. It resolves even if Hideous Taskmaster is later countered or removed before it resolves.
- You choose up to one target creature controlled by each opponent when the triggered ability is placed on the stack (you must include targets when the ability is put on the stack).
- If an opponent controls no creatures, you simply gain control of zero creatures for that opponent.
- You gain control of each targeted creature only until end of turn. Control returns to the previous controller at that time (or earlier if another effect changes control).
- When you gain control of those creatures, they become untapped (even if they were already untapped).
- Those creatures gain trample, haste, and annihilator 1 until end of turn. Haste lets them attack and ignore summoning sickness; trample affects how combat damage is assigned. Annihilator 1 triggers when that creature attacks this turn.
- Annihilator 1 is a triggered ability that triggers when the creature attacks. The defending player (the player being attacked) chooses and sacrifices one permanent when that trigger resolves, before blockers are declared.
- If the annihilator trigger causes a defending player to sacrifice a planeswalker that is being attacked, the attacking creature still continues its attack (it can be blocked or remain unblocked as normal).
- Devoid makes Hideous Taskmaster colorless in all zones. It is considered colorless, not colorless plus any mana colors in its cost. Devoid can be overridden by effects that later change its color, in which case it has only the new color(s).
- Devoid does not change color identity for Commander—rulings clarify how color identity is determined in special cases.

Rulings
Devoid doesn't affect the color identity of the card for the purposes of the Commander variant. For example, while Abstruse Appropriation is colorless because it has devoid, its color identity is still white and black, and it can't be included in a Commander deck where the commander's color identity doesn't include both white and black.
If a creature with annihilator is attacking a planeswalker, and the defending player chooses to sacrifice that planeswalker, the attacking creature continues to attack. It may be blocked. If it isn't blocked, it simply won't deal combat damage to anything.
Devoid works in all zones, not just on the battlefield.
If a card loses devoid, it will still be colorless. This is because effects that change an object's color (like the one created by devoid) are considered before the object loses devoid.
Hideous Taskmaster's second ability will resolve before Hideous Taskmaster does. If Hideous Taskmaster is countered or otherwise leaves the stack in response to that triggered ability, the triggered ability will still resolve as normal.
A card with devoid is just colorless. It's not colorless and the colors of mana in its mana cost.
Annihilator abilities trigger and resolve during the declare attackers step. The defending player sacrifices the required number of permanents of their choice before they declare blockers. Any creatures sacrificed this way won't be able to block.
