Wyjaśnienie po polsku

Gandalf Szary (Gandalf the Grey)

Legendarny Stworzenie — Awatar Czarodziej

Oracle: "Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell, choose one that hasn't been chosen —" oznacza, że za każdym razem, gdy rzucasz czar typu instant lub sorcery, wyzwala się zdolność wywołana Gandalf Szary.

• "You may tap or untap target permanent."
• "Gandalf deals 3 damage to each opponent."
• "Copy target instant or sorcery spell you control. You may choose new targets for the copy."
• "Put Gandalf on top of its owner's library." To usuwa go z pola bitwy i umieszcza na bibliotece.

- Jeśli Gandalf Szary opuści pole bitwy i potem wróci, stanie się nowym obiektem i pamięć o wcześniej wybranych trybach zostaje zresetowana. Nowy Gandalf może znowu użyć wszystkich trybów.

Ważne interakcje

Try to cast multiple instants/sorceries in a turn to get different modes; remember each mode can be chosen only once while that same Gandalf is on the battlefield.
You choose the mode when the triggered ability goes on the stack; if a mode needs targets, legal targets must exist at that moment to choose it.
If the triggered ability is countered or its targets become illegal and it doesn't resolve, the chosen mode still counts as having been chosen.
If Gandalf changes control, the new controller may only choose among modes that haven't yet been chosen on that Gandalf.
If Gandalf leaves and later returns to the battlefield, it's a new object and the previously chosen-mode memory is gone.

Rulings

2023-06-16

You choose the mode as the triggered ability goes on the stack. You can choose a mode that requires targets only if there are legal targets available.

2023-06-16

If the ability doesn't resolve (either for having its target become illegal or because a spell or ability counters it), the mode chosen for that instance of the ability still counts as being chosen.

2023-06-16

It doesn't matter who has chosen any particular mode. For example, say you control Gandalf the Grey and have chosen the first two modes. If an opponent gains control of Gandalf the Grey, that player can choose only the third or fourth mode.

2023-06-16

The phrase "that hasn't been chosen" refers only to that specific Gandalf the Grey. If Gandalf the Grey leaves the battlefield (possibly because of the fourth mode of its ability) and then returns to the battlefield later, it will be a new object with no memory of the modes chosen when it was last on the battlefield.
