Some spells and abilities that create Food tokens may require targets. If each target chosen is an illegal target as that spell or ability tries to resolve, it won't resolve. You won't create any Food tokens.

Unlucky Cabbage Merchant
Creature — Human Citizen
When this creature enters, create a Food token. (It's an artifact with "
,
, Sacrifice this token: You gain 3 life.")
Whenever you sacrifice a Food, you may search your library for a basic land card and put it onto the battlefield tapped. If you search your library this way, put this creature on the bottom of its owner's library, then shuffle.

Wyjaśnienie po polsku
Niefortunny Kupiec Kapusty (Unlucky Cabbage Merchant)
Istota — Człowiek Obywatel
Gdy ta istota wchodzi, stwórz żeton Food. (To artefakt z ", , Poświęć ten żeton: Zyskujesz 3 punkty życia.")
Zawsze gdy poświęcasz Food, możesz przeszukać swoją bibliotekę i znaleźć kartę podstawowego lądu, a następnie włożyć ją na pole bitwy tapped. Jeśli w ten sposób przeszukasz bibliotekę, umieść tę istotę na dole biblioteki jej właściciela, potem potasuj.
, , Poświęć ten żeton: Zyskujesz 3 punkty życia.")Zawsze gdy poświęcasz Food, możesz przeszukać swoją bibliotekę i znaleźć kartę podstawowego lądu, a następnie włożyć ją na pole bitwy tapped.
(Symbole many i zachowują się normalnie.)
- We create a Food token when this creature enters the battlefield.
- Whenever you sacrifice any Food, you may search your library for a basic land card and put it onto the battlefield tapped.
- If you choose to search your library this way, after putting that land onto the battlefield you put this creature on the bottom of its owner's library and then shuffle your library.
Później poświęcasz ten żeton, by zyskać 3 życia. Ponieważ poświęciłeś Food, możesz przeszukać bibliotekę w poszukiwaniu podstawowego lądu i włożyć go na pole bitwy tapped. Jeśli to zrobisz, umieszczasz Unlucky Cabbage Merchant na dole swojej biblioteki, a następnie tasujesz bibliotekę.

Whatever you do, don't eat the delicious cards.
If an effect refers to a Food, it means any Food artifact, not just a Food artifact token. For example, you can sacrifice Tough Cookie (an Artifact Creature — Food Golem) to activate Bosco, Just a Bear's ability (an ability with "Sacrifice a Food" in its cost). You can't sacrifice a Food to pay multiple costs. For example, you can't sacrifice a Food token to activate its own ability and also to activate Bosco, Just a Bear's ability.
Food is an artifact type. Even though it appears on some creatures, it's never a creature type.
